Dear all,
I'm very sorry to hear about the sad news on Byler, who's a handsome and lovely Colorado boy.
I still remember the first day when Byler was in Xi'an and we had lunch together. Byler was happy for the warm welcome to him and he kept saying, ' Now I have friends in China and I'm no longer nervous!'
I still remember the funny seconds when Byler tried to pick up pieces of tofu by Chinese chopsticks but always failed.
I still remember that many times when he said BEER in Chinese like 'Bi Jiu', we laughed at him, 'Byler, you need a Bi Shou (dagger)?'
I still remember Byler's working attitudes, which left a deep impression on all of us. I often tell my Chinese friends that I have a friend from the USA who devotes himself to the field of archaeology. Everyone of us can learn much from what Byler had done during the excavation.
I still remember his nice small bag for different working tools, he once said that he could bring some of the tools to me next summer...
I still remember many memorable moments...
Rest in peace! Byler....
Photos attached are for Bai Long...
Best wishes to all of you! Keep healthy and happy all the time!
Yours,
Jason
